🚨 Chelsea are considering a £42M move for Sporting CP striker Conrad Harder. The 19-year-old also has interest from West Ham and Arsenal…. see details

Chelsea are reportedly considering a £42 million move for Sporting CP’s 19-year-old Danish striker, Conrad Harder, during the January transfer window. Harder, who joined Sporting CP from FC Nordsjælland in September 2024 for €19 million, has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including West Ham United and Arsenal.

Since his arrival at Sporting, Harder has made a notable impact, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 22 appearances. His performances have drawn comparisons to his teammate Viktor Gyökeres, with some viewing Harder as a potential successor should Gyökeres depart.

Harder’s contract with Sporting includes an €80 million release clause; however, reports suggest that the Portuguese club may consider offers around €50 million (£42 million). Chelsea, seeking to bolster their attacking options, are reportedly “looking closely” at Harder and contemplating a bid this month.

Arsenal and West Ham United have also been monitoring Harder’s progress. Arsenal’s interest may be influenced by the recent injury to Bukayo Saka, prompting them to explore attacking reinforcements. West Ham, in search of a new No.9, might find the £42 million valuation challenging to meet.

Harder’s career began in Denmark, where he progressed through the youth ranks at FC Nordsjælland. After a prolific season with the U-19 team, scoring 27 goals in 24 games, he made his senior debut in June 2023. His impressive form continued into the 2023–24 season, leading to his transfer to Sporting CP.

At Sporting, Harder has demonstrated his potential, notably scoring a brace in a 2–1 victory over Portimonense in the Taça de Portugal. His physical presence and goal-scoring ability have made him a standout talent, attracting attention from top European clubs.

As the January transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea or other interested Premier League clubs will formalize their interest in Harder with a concrete offer. Sporting CP’s willingness to negotiate below the release clause could facilitate a move, but competition for the young striker’s signature is expected to be intense.
