Memories from Ibrox to Hampden rush my mind as I sit down to write this letter: the roars, the heartaches, the victories, and the unwavering spirit that characterizes what it means to be a member of Rangers Football Club. As a former captain and servant of this illustrious organization, I write now as a man profoundly humbled by the love, faith, and support you have all given me along the way.
I experienced an unfathomable sense of pride, obligation, and belonging to a team that means the world to its supporters as soon as I put on the blue jersey. Winning games was never the only goal; it was also about representing the aspirations of millions of people who support us no matter what and who wear blue and white. What makes Rangers enduring is their dedication and commitment.
I would want to express my sincere gratitude to Russell Martin, the current head coach. Your vision for this club, perseverance, and leadership exemplify the same Rangers spirit that saw us through our heyday. You’ve brought back pride, solidarity, and faith among the supporters and in the locker room. I’m reminded as I see you lead this new generation that the Rangers’ strength has always been in their ability to carry on traditions from one generation to the next. I am happy to see the club in such skilled hands, and you have my highest regard.
No words can ever fully express what your steadfast devotion means to Rangers supporters, who are the team’s lifeblood. You have stayed strong through decades of change, through successes and setbacks. Ibrox became a family and a stronghold because of you. In times of adversity as well as triumph, you have carried guys like me on your shoulders. That’s the real test of brilliance, in my opinion.
I want to express my gratitude to the Rangers FC organization for creating an atmosphere that helped my career develop and thrive. In addition to providing the football field, you also taught life lessons about humility, cooperation, and perseverance.
As I think back on my time in blue, I see that my legacy is in the love I’ve shared with this amazing community, not just in my accomplishments or awards. Rangers will always be more than just a team; they are a family, a representation of tenacity, and a source of pride.
