To the Baylor Bears Football family, amazing fans, and the whole Bears community,
As I sit down to compose this letter, my heart is full with thanks. There are few instances in life when we may halt and fully reflect on our path together. My time at Baylor has been one of the most changing of my life, not only as a coach, but also as a husband, father, and man of religion. And for that, I sincerely thank each of you.

When I first came in Waco, I realized I was moving into a position with enormous responsibility and limitless possibilities. The Baylor Bears are more than a football program; they represent perseverance, camaraderie, and faith-driven excellence. What I immediately discovered, however, is that this community is also a family, one that supports its players and staff not only in times of triumph, but also in times of adversity. That is what makes Baylor unique.
To all former and current players, you are the heart of this program. Every practice, every rep in the weight room, and every hard-fought game demonstrates your dedication and effort. Coaching you has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Your development, both as athletes and men, inspires me every day. I’ve seen you apply what you learned on the field—discipline, resilience, and teamwork—to your personal lives, classrooms, and communities. This is the genuine definition of success.
To the fans, you are the voice that gets us through the ups and downs. I can’t tell you how many times your applause boosted our spirits, your belief kept us going after a setback, and your pride reminded us of who we are every time we put on the green and gold. Baylor Nation, your dedication is unparalleled, and I am deeply grateful for the excitement you provide to every game, whether in McLane Stadium or miles away.
To the Baylor community—students, professors, alumni, and loyal supporters—you have created a climate in which progress is not just possible, but unavoidable. Your encouragement, prayers, and continuous support have laid the groundwork for our program to prosper despite adversity. Together, we have created something better than triumphs and losses: a culture based on character, religion, and solidarity.
Baylor has been more than just a coaching destination for me; it has felt like home. My family has been received with warmth and kindness, and this will not be forgotten. The lessons I’ve learned here will stay with me for the rest of my life.
As we go forward, I pledge to continue giving my utmost to respect this community, this program, and the tradition of Baylor Bears football. Thank you for joining me on this journey, believing in our goal, and reminding me every day why I love this game and this family.
With sincere gratitude,
Dave Aranda,
Head Coach
Baylor Bears Football.
