This is from the bottom of my heart to my brothers in My Chemical Romance, to the fans who have kept our songs burning brightly through the night, and to the whole MCR community.
I don’t think any of us could have predicted how far this trip would go or how profoundly it would affect so many people’s lives when we first started. A movement of music, passion, and togetherness emerged from what began as a survival instinct—the urge to produce something truthful in a world that frequently seems false. There was more to My Chemical Romance than just a band. It served as a lifeline for me and the rest of us, not just for the people who listened.

Your love was reflected in every shout, every line, and every night spent performing. You, the supporters, transformed suffering into strength. You showed me what it really meant to be a part of something bigger than myself, painted your faces bravely, and wore your hearts on your sleeves. The gaps I once believed to be irreversible were filled by your words. You taught me that music can be a healing force that transcends its creators and that vulnerability is strength.
To my bandmates, Frank, Ray, and Mikey: you are my compass when the noise gets too loud and my brothers in arms. Together, we created something timeless—a language that resonated with both dreamers and misfits. I will always be thankful that you allowed me the room to change, to falter, and to rediscover who I was outside of the black procession.
Thank you to everyone in the My Chemical Romance community, including the creators, fans, artists, and believers, for continuing to light the fire long after the stage went out. You reminded me that what we produced was a shared heartbeat that continues to reverberate to this day, not just a moment in music history. You transformed our songs into hymns to tenacity and survival.

Looking back, I see a continuation rather than a conclusion—a living, breathing example of the strength of connection and art. You allowed me to develop as an artist and experiment with different sounds and narratives, all the while feeling your love.
You all rise with me when I rise. I appreciate that even when the world didn’t believe in us, you always believed in me.
With all of my affection,
Way of Gerard
