The Gators’ men’s basketball team clinched their third NCAA national championship with a thrilling 65–63 victory over Houston in the championship game held at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Trailing by 12 points in the second half, Florida mounted a remarkable comeback, fueled by the defensive prowess of Walter Clayton Jr. Clayton, who scored all 11 of his points after halftime, was named the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player. Will Richard led the Gators with 18 points, while Alijah Martin contributed crucial free throws in the final minute to secure the win. Head coach Todd Golden, at 39, became the youngest coach since 1983 to win a national title, marking a significant milestone in Florida’s basketball history.


⚾ Baseball: Regional Berth
