Fresno State Bulldogs sign 7-foot-5 five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson and flip CB Onis Konanbanny from rival San Jose State.
Fresno State Bulldogs head coach Jeff Tedford and his staff have acquired the commitment of five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson, who stands 7 feet 5 and weighs 265 pounds. In addition to Wilson, the Bulldogs acquired three-star cornerback Onis Konanbanny from arch rival San Jose State, boosting their squad for the future.
Wilson’s commitment is nothing short of historical. Standing at an astounding 7-foot-5, he combines a rare combination of stature, athleticism, and catching skill, making him a nightmare matchup for defenders. His height, wingspan, and outstanding ball skills give the Bulldogs an offensive weapon that can change the game. Wilson received offers from several Power Five colleges, but he ultimately opted to attend Fresno State, a program known for generating great offensive talent.
“I just felt at home with the coaching staff and the culture at Fresno State,” Wilson told me. “They believe in my capacity to transform the game. I’m prepared to be a part of something extraordinary here.”
Adding to Fresno State’s success, the Bulldogs were able to get Onis Konanbanny, a highly regarded cornerback from San Jose State. The defensive back was projected to be an important part of the Spartans’ recruiting class, but after a late push from Fresno State, he opted to move. His versatility, speed, and instincts make him an immediate benefit to the Bulldogs’ defence, where he will seek to contribute in the secondary.
“This was a tough decision, but Fresno State felt like the right place for me,” Konanbanny told me. “I respect San Jose State, but I have to follow my heart, and I see myself thriving with the Bulldogs.”
Fresno State announced the recruitment of Wilson and Konanbanny. Not only did they land one of the most physically distinctive wide receivers in college football history, but they also dealt a blow to their in-state rival by trading a key defensive player.
With Wilson leading the offence and Konanbanny boosting the defence, the Bulldogs are establishing themselves as a strong force in the Mountain West Conference. The future of Fresno appears brighter than ever.
