An open letter from Dhani Harrison to my father’s fans and the entire entertainment community.
To the dedicated fans of my father, George Harrison, and to the whole entertainment community,
There are times in life when words fail to express the amount of gratitude one feels. Today, as I think on my journey and the great legacy my father has left behind, I am overwhelmed with tremendous gratitude to each and every one of you for carrying his spirit forward with love, respect, and steadfast support.
From the time I was old enough to appreciate the impact of music, I knew my father was more than just a musician; he was a force of nature, a seeker of truth, and a soul who poured himself into his work. His music was more than just melody and lyrics; it was about connection and the search for something deeper within ourselves. One of the most rewarding aspects of my life has been witnessing how his work continues to inspire future generations.
To the fans who have kept his legacy alive, who continue to play his records, share his knowledge, and pass his music on through the generations—you are the reason his light has never waned. Your passion for his craft, as well as your commitment to his message of peace and spiritual growth, have ensured that his music continues to reverberate as powerfully now as it did when he first created it. I can’t thank you enough for acknowledging his efforts with such sincerity and enthusiasm.
I am eternally grateful to the entertainment community, the artists, musicians, and storytellers who have embraced my father’s impact and warmly welcomed me into this world. Your willingness to participate, share experiences, and recognise his contributions to music has meant everything. I’ve had the luxury of following in his footsteps, not to replace or copy, but to continue the adventure in my own manner. Without your encouragement and support, this would not have been possible.
As I continue on my own musical journey, I am aware that my father’s presence can be felt in every chord, note, and lyric that aims to elevate, inspire, and challenge us to be better human beings. I am devoted to carrying on what he stood for: love, integrity, and a genuine appreciation for the art of music.
