An open letter from Joe Walsh to the Eagles, fans, and the entire Joe Walsh community.
Dear Eagles Family, my cherished fans, and the ever-supportive Joe Walsh Community,
As I sit down to write this, my heart is full of thankfulness. Looking back on this great journey, I am humbled by the love, support, and unflinching faith you have all demonstrated over the years. This is more than a thank-you letter; it is a tribute to those who have influenced my life, music, and soul.
To my Eagles brothers—Don Henley, Timothy B. Schmit, the late, great Glenn Frey, and everyone else who has shared this journey with us—you have been more than bandmates; you have been family. We’ve created something timeless through the highs and lows, tours, albums, and moments of creative brilliance. The Eagles’ music exemplifies our spiritual harmony, and I am honoured to have been a part of this legendary voyage.
To my fans: your enthusiasm has been the wind beneath my wings. I’ve wanted to make music that resonated since I first picked up a guitar, and you made that dream come true. Whether you discovered me through my solo work, my time with the James Gang, or as an Eagle, you have supported me by packing arenas, screaming my songs through your speakers, and connecting with my music in ways I never anticipated. Your loyalty has fuelled my creation, and I owe you more than I can say.
I will be eternally grateful to the Joe Walsh community for their support of my artwork, idiosyncrasies, and personal development path. You have allowed me to be myself, to grow, and to find purpose outside of the stage. Music is a gift, but those who make music meaningful are the great jewels of life.
As we move on, I want you to know that I do not take a single note, concert, or moment of this journey for granted. Your love and support have made everything possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking part in my tale.
With all of my love and gratitude.
Joe Walsh
