Kaizer Chiefs are actively engaged in the transfer market, focusing on bolstering their squad with strategic acquisitions. One prominent target is Congolese striker Makabi Lilepo, currently valued at approximately R10 million. Reports indicate that Chiefs have agreed to personal terms with Lilepo, who has been plying his trade with French side Valenciennes FC. Lilepo’s potential move to Naturena would mark the club’s second signing of the January transfer window, following the acquisition of Tashreeq Morris from SuperSport United.

In addition to Lilepo, Chiefs have shown interest in other high-profile players. Notably, the club has been linked with Fiston Mayele, another Congolese striker, though his valuation stands at a substantial R20 million. The pursuit of such talent underscores Chiefs’ ambition to reinforce their attacking options as they aim to compete at the highest levels of the league.

Meanwhile, former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange has embarked on a new chapter in his career. After parting ways with SuperSport United due to limited game time, Nange secured a three-year contract with Marumo Gallants in July 2024. His move reunites him with coach Dylan Kerr, under whom he previously played at Black Leopards during the 2018/19 season. Nange’s experience and midfield prowess are expected to be valuable assets for Gallants as they navigate the challenges of the current season.

These developments reflect Kaizer Chiefs’ proactive approach in the transfer market and the dynamic nature of player careers within the South African Premier Division. As the season progresses, the impact of these strategic moves will become evident, influencing both team performances and individual career trajectories.
