So touching: The Edmonton Oilers are now without its two biggest stars, and it doesn’t appear that they’ll be back.

The Edmonton Oilers are now without its two biggest stars, and it doesn’t appear that they’ll be back anytime this week with the newest

Three of the Edmonton Oilers’ key players have suffered injuries in recent days, including two of their best players, whose status for the Stanley Cup Playoffs is in question. Both are anticipated to return in the regular season, but it doesn’t mean they won’t miss any time, according to Head Coach Kris Knoblauch’s initial update.

Both McDavid and Draisaitl are extremely unlikely to play in any of the team’s three games this week against Dallas, Seattle, and Calgary, according to reporter Jason Gregor.

The Los Angeles Kings officially overtook Edmonton for second place in the Pacific Division the day before this most recent report was released. If their two best players miss all three games this week, they will only have nine regular season games left to play.

There’s no denying that they could return in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and start right away given the chemistry they’ve developed with this roster over the previous few years, but they’ll be hoping for a quicker return because the team is vying for home ice advantage.

There is currently no set return date for either, and considering the Oilers’ recent troubles, it is hoped that we will learn soon. We will keep you informed when that occurs.
