From my early days in the academy to standing on the grandest stages of Super League with the Wigan badge on my chest, I have felt the weight of our rich history and the responsibility to uphold it. That sense of purpose drove me every day—to train harder, play smarter, and lead with heart. And I did so, always knowing I had the full support of a club and a town that stood behind me.

To the coaching staff, medical team, and all those who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes—thank you for believing in me, guiding me, and challenging me. Your dedication never went unnoticed, and your impact will always stay with me. You helped me stay sharp, resilient, and focused, no matter the circumstance.

Thank you for believing in me, guiding me, and challenging me. Your efforts were not in vain, and your influence will live on. You helped me stay sharp, tough, and focused regardless of the circumstances.

My teammates, both past and present, have been more than just fellow athletes. You have been my brothers. We’ve battled, bled, and triumphed for this badge. The friendship we’ve developed in the locker room and on the field has been simply remarkable—memories I’ll cherish forever.

To our fans—the Wigan Warriors’ heartbeat—your passion has lifted us in times of doubt and carried us to greatness. Whether it was a cold night at DW Stadium or a raucous Challenge Cup final, your words resonated in our thoughts and emotions. You never let us forget why we play this game, and I am eternally grateful.

And to the entire Wigan community: you gave me a home, a foundation, and a family. This town breathes rugby league, and being a part of that tradition is something I’ve never taken for granted. Walking around the streets, hearing encouraging remarks, and seeing young children dream of pulling on the cherry and white—it makes me proud.

When I reflect on my career, I do so with thankfulness rather than a sense of closure. Every tackle, try, and moment has been made possible by your unflinching faith in me. Wigan is more than simply a place where I played; it is also where I grew, learnt, and developed into the man I am today.

Thank you for walking this journey with me. It has been an honour.

With my whole heart,
Liam Farrell
