Netflix set to Release Documentary on hip hop forever….. see details

Netflix has announced the production of a new docuseries titled “Did Diddy Do It?”, which will delve into the serious allegations against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. The series is set to be directed by Emmy award-winning filmmaker Alex Stapleton, known for her work on documentaries such as “Corman’s World: Exploits of a Hollywood Rebel” and “Reggie”.

The docuseries will explore various allegations against Combs, including those of sex trafficking, racketeering, and sexual assault. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is attached to the project as an executive producer through his G-Unit Film & Television company, which has previously produced successful series like “Power”.

In a joint statement, Stapleton and Jackson emphasized their commitment to providing a platform for voices that have been unheard, stating, “We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives.” They also noted that while the allegations are disturbing, it’s important to recognize that Combs’s story does not encompass the entirety of hip-hop culture.

As of now, the docuseries is in production, and a release date has not been announced. The series aims to offer a comprehensive narrative, shedding light on the human impact of the allegations and examining the broader implications within the music industry.

This project adds to Netflix’s growing catalog of hip-hop-related content, which includes titles like “Hip-Hop Evolution”, a series that traces the genre’s dynamic evolution from the 1970s through the 2000s, and “Rapture”, which features groundbreaking artists sharing their life stories and hip-hop’s impact on global culture.

The collaboration between Netflix, Stapleton, and 50 Cent underscores a commitment to exploring complex narratives within the hip-hop industry, providing audiences with in-depth insights into both its cultural contributions and the challenges it

faces.
