Waco, TX— Dave Aranda, head football coach at Baylor University, has made a significant and sincere gesture that cements his role as not only a leader on the field, but also a custodian of the institution’s long-term prosperity. Aranda revealed today that he will donate a total of $2.75 million from his recent performance bonus to transformative projects on and off the field.
The majority of the donation, $2 million, would benefit the Bears Revamp Project, a significant endeavor aimed at improving academic support facilities, student-athlete services, athletic infrastructure, and wellness centers across campus. “College is about more than just academics and sports. “It’s about becoming who you were meant to be,” Aranda explained. “I want every student, whether they wear a jersey or not, to have the chance to succeed, grow, and lead.”
University President Linda Livingstone praised Aranda’s generosity, calling it “a defining moment for Baylor” and complimenting the coach’s modesty and ethics.
