Major News for Ryan Day’s Family on Wednesday

2024 was a significant year for Ryan Day and his family.

Following Ohio State’s defeat by the unranked Michigan Wolverines in the regular-season finale, Day came under heavy fire. The Ohio State program leader had to pay security to keep himself and his family safe because of this.

Day, however, responded to this criticism by leading his team to victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the College Football Playoff national title this past January.

Day is currently getting ready for the Buckeyes’ 2025 title defense, while his son, RJ, is receiving offers from several schools across the country.

RJ is a 2027 quarterback prospect who attends Columbus, Ohio’s St. Francis DeSales High School. He revealed a scholarship offer from the Syracuse Orange and offensive coordinator Jeff Nixon on Wednesday.

Syracuse’s scholarship offer is Day’s thirteenth recruitment offer to date. Additionally, Akron, Boston College, Bowling Green, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Marshall, Miami (OH), Rhode Island, Temple, and Toldeo have extended offers to the 6-foot-1 quarterback.

Ryan Day talked about his son’s recruiting process a week ago on the ESPN “College GameDay Podcast.”

Knowing that he would be attending college in two years makes it worrisome to see how quickly this is progressing and has already passed, Day remarked. He is my closest friend. I bring him to games. Together, we may enjoy this football game. That has been pretty nice since he is completely engrossed in the game.

“You know, I don’t really care about the facilities or the weight room when we go on these recruiting visits,” Day went on.

“All I want to know is who will assist me in raising my son. Who are the folks who will genuinely care about him and be there to help him improve not just as a football player but also as a person off the field? When you look at it that way, I believe it makes all of us better instructors.

The Buckeyes’ 2025 college football season will begin on August 30 with a much-anticipated game versus the Texas Longhorns.
