The four-star cornerback chooses Ohio State over Michigan and Notre Dame.

Four-star cornerback Jordan Thomas has committed to Ohio State, choosing the Buckeyes over fellow finalists Notre Dame, Michigan, Auburn, Texas A&M, and USC. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound standout from Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, New Jersey, announced his decision on Monday during a ceremony at his school .

Thomas is ranked as the No. 3 prospect in New Jersey and the No. 19 cornerback nationally in the 2026 recruiting class . He amassed over 40 scholarship offers and took unofficial visits to each of his top schools throughout the spring. Notably, he visited Ohio State twice, most recently on April 6. He plans to take his only official visit to Ohio State .

In choosing Ohio State, Thomas cited the opportunity to compete against elite talent, including current Buckeye wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Chris Henry Jr., as well as his former high school teammate Quincy Porter, a four-star signee in Ohio State’s 2025 class. “Iron sharpens iron. There’s no better place to be than Ohio State,” Thomas said .

With Thomas’s commitment, Ohio State now has 13 verbal commitments for the 2026 class, including two cornerbacks: Thomas and Jakob Weatherspoon . This addition strengthens the Buckeyes’ secondary and bolsters their already impressive recruiting class.

To celebrate Jordan Thomas’s commitment, fans might consider showing their support with official Ohio State Buckeyes gear. Options include the Limited Edition College Football Playoff 2024 National Championship Jersey , the Ohio State Buckeyes Men’s Full Zip Fleece Hoodie by Colosseum , or the 2024 Alternate Limited Black Football Jersey . For headwear, choices like the Top of The World Fallin Stretch Cap in red or the New Era Black 9FIFTY Snapback Hat offer stylish ways to display Buckeye pride.
