Sherman Oaks, California. The Sherman Oaks Police Department has formally refuted any allegations or continuing investigations involving award-winning singer and actress Kelly Rowland, following recent online rumors and conjecture that emerged over the weekend.

In a press event conducted Monday morning, Sherman Oaks Police Chief Angela Herrera addressed the situation directly, saying,

“At this time, there are no criminal charges, active investigations, or law enforcement involvement involving Ms. Kelly Rowland. Any claims or inferences implying differently are completely wrong.”

The announcement comes after a sudden surge of conjecture on social media sites, with unclear and unsubstantiated posts circulating regarding an alleged event involving the artist. The rumors, which lacked facts and reputable sources, swiftly spread, causing alarm among fans and media outlets.

Rowland, 43, has not made a personal remark as of this writing, but a spokesperson for the artist has issued a brief statement denouncing the reports as “reckless, unfounded, and harmful.” The representative added,

“Kelly is dedicated to her family, artistic interests, and charity efforts. She appreciates the affection from her followers and requests privacy and respect as misinformation is corrected.

Rowland is internationally recognized as a member of the renowned group Destiny’s Child, as well as for her successful solo music and film career. She is also considered as a role model in the entertainment business and for her support for mental health awareness, women’s empowerment, and youth mentorship.

Many fans and artists have taken to social media to show their support. Taraji P. Henson, an actress and friend, wrote:

“Kelly exemplifies grace and integrity. False narratives are exhausting and hazardous. Safeguard Black women. Period.”

Social media researchers and legal professionals have warned about the growing frequency of damage caused by viral disinformation, particularly concerning celebrities.

“This is a textbook example of how quickly false rumors can spread and harm someone’s reputation,” said crisis communications expert Malik Renner. “Fortunately, law enforcement has acted swiftly to dispel the falsehoods, but the damage to public perception can linger.”

As bogus claims are debunked, the Sherman Oaks Police Department advises the public to verify information from trustworthy sources before sharing it. The department ended its statement with:

“We take all community concerns seriously, but we emphasize the value of facts over speculation. Ms. Rowland’s name should not be associated with any criminal allegations at this time.”
