Aaron Judge’s Teammate Gifted Him a Diamond Gavel Necklace Worth $20k
The 33-year-old New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge recently
unveiled a $20,000 custom-designed diamond gavel necklace. Giancarlo Stanton, a teammate, gave him this unique present. The pendant, which was made by famous Miami jeweller AJ Machado of AJ’s Jewellery, is set in 14-karat white gold and has three bands of amethyst and more than 12 carats of VVS-grade diamonds.The charm is topped with a rose made of rose gold and diamonds, which gives it a special touch. The names of Judge’s wife Samantha (“Sam”), daughter Nora (born January 27, 2025), and their dogs Gus and Penny are also engraved on the necklace. The etching “2x” also commemorates Judge’s two MVP honours.
Stanton worked hard with Machado during spring training to create something distinctive yet functional for Judge to wear during games. The end result is a work that combines elegance and personal importance, highlighting Judge’s accomplishments and family. Machado, known for his work with athletes in the NFL, NBA, and MLB, has worked with a number of high-profile clients, including boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and musician Drake. In 2011, ESPN recognised him as “the most well-connected” designer in professional sports.
The gavel design alludes to Judge’s “All Rise” nickname and leadership role on the team. This isn’t the first time Judge has received a gavel-themed gift; in 2017, the New York Yankees awarded him with a crystal gavel to mark his spectacular rookie season, during which he established the MLB rookie home run record.
Judge’s fashion influence continues to increase, thanks to his polished appearance and attention to detail both on and off the pitch. He has even fronted a Ralph Lauren fragrance commercial for 2024, which emphasises comfort and style on game days.
