Dear Georgia Bulldogs Football, Dawg Nation, and the whole Bulldogs community,
Today, I write this letter with a heart full of gratitude, humility, and pride. As I reflect on my time in Athens, donning the red and black and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with some of college football’s most remarkable athletes, coaches, and supporters, I am grateful for every moment, struggle, and accomplishment. The University of Georgia provided me with more than just a football platform; it also provided me with a home, a family, and an identity that I will carry with me throughout my life.
Thank you, Coach Kirby Smart and the entire coaching staff. Thank you for believing in a Rabun County child and challenging me to reach new heights, work more, and lead more effectively. Your guidance taught me the value of playing with purpose as well as skill. You instilled in me the importance of discipline, resilience, and camaraderie, and those values go far beyond the football field.
My teammates—my brothers—this adventure would not have been the same without you. Long practices, film sessions, and high-stakes Saturdays Between the Hedges helped us create something tangible. We did every snap, huddle, and touchdown together. You encouraged me to grow, held me accountable, and celebrated alongside me. For those relationships, I will be eternally grateful.
Dawg Nation fans, your persistent support has been the program’s heartbeat. You showed up whether the sun was shining or the rain was pouring down. You yelled with zeal at Sanford Stadium and raised our spirits across the country. Your faith in us has never wavered. From “Glory, Glory” to the loud chanting under the lights, your love made performing here an amazing experience.
To the University of Georgia community—professors, trainers, staff, and mentors—you all helped me grow as an athlete and a man. Thank you for providing me with insight, advice, and patience. You helped me remain grounded, focused, and inspired.
It has not always been easy. There were times when I questioned myself, moments of injury, disappointment, and waiting for my turn. But even as I waited, I grew. Georgia provided me with the time, space, and encouragement I needed to grow into the leader I am now. And for that, I shall be eternally thankful.
As I prepare to take the next step in my football career—wherever it may lead—I will carry everyone of you with me. This is not our final goodbye. It is a salute. A thank you. A commitment to represent the G with the same pride and tenacity that it has always symbolized for me.
Thank you, Georgia.
Forever a Dawg
