An Open Letter from Jane Fonda.
To my dearest fans and the entire entertainment community:
As I sit to write these lines, I am overcome with a deep sense of appreciation. Reflecting on my trip, which has been filled with creativity, resilience, and purpose, I can’t help but think about the many others who have walked this path with me. This letter is for everyone who has helped shape my story, lifted me up, and inspired me to keep chasing my dreams.
You, my admirers, have been my heartbeat, compass, and source of endless inspiration. Your steadfast support, whether shown through a kind word, a heartfelt letter, or your attendance at my work’s premieres and events, has meant more to me than words can express. You’ve told me how my performances, activism, and journey have influenced your life, and in turn, I’ve been deeply moved and profoundly altered. I am eternally grateful for your trust in me—not only as an artist, but also as a human navigating this confusing world.
The affection you’ve shown me throughout the years has served as a guiding light through my career’s highs and lows. In moments of uncertainty, your encouragement reminded me of the power of storytelling and the importance of utilising my voice for good. Thank you for accepting me, flaws and all, and for allowing me to mature both on and off screen. You’ve been my partners on this great trip, and I’ll remember you forever in my heart.
To the entertainment community—my colleagues, collaborators, and visionaries who have dared to dream alongside me—you are the foundation on which my career has been built. Thank you for establishing an environment in which I could thrive, for believing in my abilities, and for encouraging me to push boundaries and take on roles that have changed my spirit. Every screenplay, set, and conversation has demonstrated the miracle of teamwork and storytelling’s ability to bring us together.
This year, especially, has been a reflection of everything we’ve accomplished together. It’s been a year of celebration, reflection, and purpose. From roles that have pushed my creative boundaries to opportunities to speak for causes near to my heart, I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had the freedom and support to be my true self.
As I move forward, I am reminded that this is not my road alone. It belongs to everyone—creators, consumers, and those who believe in the transformational potential of art. Together, we have created something wonderful, and I am more committed than ever to keep the trust and love you have placed in me.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of my narrative. You are my family, my community, and my most precious blessing. Here’s to more chapters together.
