An open letter from Josh Allen to the Buffalo Bills, our fans, and the whole Bills community.
Dear Buffalo Bills family,
As I sit down to write this letter, my heart is full of gratitude, pride, and humility. While our season did not conclude as we had hoped—we lost in the AFC Championship game to the Kansas City Chiefs—I am forced to reflect on all this remarkable journey has meant to me, both as a quarterback and as a person.
First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Buffalo Bills organisation. From the front office to the coaching staff and everyone who works tirelessly behind the scenes, you have created an atmosphere in which I can grow not only as an athlete but also as a leader. Your unfailing belief in me since day one has served as the cornerstone of my confidence, and I am honoured to represent this franchise every time I go on the pitch.
To my teammates and brothers: Words cannot adequately describe how much each of you means to me. Football is the ultimate team sport, and the camaraderie we have is genuinely remarkable. We’ve been through both highs and lows together, and this season was no exception. I am honoured to combat beside you, to learn from you, and to partake in the moments that make this game so special. This year, we contributed everything we had, and while we did not meet our ultimate goal, I am convinced that we are only getting started.
To the Buffalo Bills’ fans: You are the team’s heartbeat. From the tailgates at Highmark Stadium to the chanting of “Let’s Go Buffalo,” your enthusiasm and energy motivate us every day. Whether we’re celebrating a success or recovering from a loss, you’re always there, unwaveringly supportive. Your devotion for our team transcends victories and losses, and I truly believe there is no better fan base in sports.
The loss against the Chiefs was heartbreaking, and I know it hurt for all of us. But if there’s one thing I’ve learnt from my time in Buffalo, it’s that adversity reveals our true character. This team, city, and community are founded on resilience, and I vow we’ll be back stronger than ever. We’ve gone so far together, and I believe our best days are still ahead of us.
As I look ahead, my resolve is stronger than ever. I am determined to do whatever it takes to deliver a Super Bowl championship to Buffalo. This city and its residents deserve nothing less. Thank you for entrusting me with this enormous duty and welcoming me as one of your own.
Buffalo is more than a team or a location to me; it is home. And I am eternally grateful for your love, support, and the opportunity to be a part of something very great. Together, we will keep pushing forward, and together, we will achieve greatness.
With my whole heart,
Joshua Allen #17
