Portland, OR – In a stunning revelation, Trail Blazers Head Coach Chauncey Billups dropped a bombshell regarding the team’s star shooting guard, Anfernee Simons.
According to Coach Billups, Simons has been diagnosed with a rare and mysterious condition known as “Sudden Shooting Slump Syndrome” (4S). The condition, which affects only a handful of players in the league, causes a sudden and unexplained decline in shooting accuracy.
“Anfernee has been struggling with his shot lately, and we couldn’t figure out why,” Coach Billups said in a statement. “But after conducting some tests and consulting with experts, we’ve determined that he’s suffering from 4S.”
Simons, who has been averaging 14.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, has seen his shooting percentage plummet in recent games. Despite his best efforts, he’s been unable to shake off the slump.

The Trail Blazers’ medical staff has been working around the clock to develop a customized treatment plan for Simons. The plan includes a combination of physical therapy, shooting drills, and mental conditioning exercises.
“We’re committed to supporting Anfernee through this challenging time,” Coach Billups said. “We’re confident that he’ll come out of this slump stronger and more determined than ever.”
The Trail Blazers’ next game is scheduled for Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers. It’s unclear whether Simons will be available to play.
