An open letter from James Taylor to his fans and the entertainment community
Dear Friends, Fans, and the Entire Entertainment Community.
As I sit down to write this, I am overcome with thankfulness. We rarely get the opportunity to pause and genuinely think on our journey—on the people, the circumstances, and the unflinching support that have shaped our route. Today, I’d like to offer my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of my journey, from the beginning of my profession to the present moment.
Music has been a constant friend in my life, helping me through successes and tribulations while also allowing me to express my feelings with the entire world. But the truth is that none of this would have been possible without the great people who have accompanied me on this journey—you, my cherished fans, and the larger entertainment community that has accepted my music and given it a home to live and thrive.
To my fans, you are the reason my songs are meaningful. Your enthusiastic applause at concerts, encouraging words, and readiness to incorporate my music into your lives have been the most valuable gifts. Your affection has fuelled my passion, pushing me to continue composing, performing, and telling tales via music. Whether you’ve been with me since the beginning or have only lately found my music, please know that I will never take your support for granted.
I owe a duty of gratitude to the entertainment community, including musicians, producers, industry experts, and everyone else who helped bring my music to the globe. You’ve created an environment in which I may grow, learn, and create freely. You’ve given me a stage, a voice, and the freedom to be myself in my craft. Your support for my music has been invaluable, and I am honoured to be a part of this ever-changing, beautiful industry.
Looking back on this trip, I realise that music is more than just notes and lyrics; it is about connection. It is about the memories we share, the feelings we experience, and the ties we form. I am sincerely grateful for the love, support, and opportunities that have helped shape my career.
