An Epochal Open Letter

From Myles Garrett III

To Cleveland Browns Fans, the Browns Community, and the Entire NFL Family

Dear Browns Nation and the NFL Community,

Today, I feel compelled to write this letter as both a player and a proud member of this incredible Browns family. Being part of this team, this city, and this league is more than a career—it’s a calling. Over the past seasons, we’ve experienced moments of triumph, challenges that tested our resolve, and an unwavering connection that binds us all. But now, as certain trends take center stage, it’s important for me to address them directly, with honesty and transparency.

In recent weeks, there’s been a growing conversation across social media, sports news, and even within our own community. It’s about more than just the plays on the field; it’s about respect, accountability, and the values we represent as players, fans, and individuals. The spotlight has been intense, the narratives loud, and at times, divisive. But this isn’t a time for us to fracture—it’s a time to unify.

To My Teammates

First and foremost, I want to acknowledge the men I share the field with. This team is built on sacrifice, hard work, and brotherhood. Every practice, every tackle, and every moment of pain or glory is experienced together. We know better than anyone that football is more than a game—it’s a reflection of life. It’s unpredictable, unforgiving, and at its core, beautiful. Thank you for pushing me to be better every single day.

To Browns Fans

You are the lifeblood of this team. Your loyalty, through thick and thin, has been nothing short of inspiring. From the Dog Pound to the streets of Cleveland, you’ve shown what it means to stand by your team. But let me also say this: we hear you. We understand your frustrations, your hopes, and your dreams for this franchise. You’ve been patient, and I assure you, every snap we take is with the goal of making you proud.

This is also a moment to call for perspective. Criticism is part of the game, but personal attacks or undue negativity on social media and beyond do nothing but hurt the very community we’re building together. Let’s keep it constructive, let’s keep it respectful, and let’s remember what brought us all together in the first place—a love for football and a belief in this team.

To the NFL Community

The NFL is a platform that reaches millions around the world. It has the power to inspire, unite, and elevate. But it also carries the responsibility of setting an example. As athletes, we must hold ourselves to the highest standards of professionalism and sportsmanship. As fans, let’s ensure our passion uplifts rather than tears down. And as a league, let’s continue working toward inclusivity, equity, and respect for everyone involved in this great game.

About the Trends We Face

Lately, topics like player accountability, social media backlash, and the portrayal of athletes in the media have dominated headlines. These issues are real, and they impact us deeply. Athletes are not immune to criticism, nor should we be, but there’s a line between critique and dehumanization. We’re not just athletes—we’re people with families, communities, and dreams outside of football.

Let’s also recognize the power of positivity. Instead of amplifying negativity, let’s celebrate the moments of greatness on and off the field. Highlight the players making an impact in their communities. Share the stories of resilience that define this league. Together, we can shift the narrative to something that truly inspires.

Looking Ahead

The Cleveland Browns have a storied past, and we’re working tirelessly to ensure the future is even brighter. As a team, we’re focused on growth—learning from our mistakes and building on our successes. But we can’t do it alone. We need your support, your passion, and your belief in what we’re building.

I promise you this: every time I step onto that field, I will give it everything I have. I will fight for my teammates, my city, and every single one of you who bleeds orange and brown. Together, we can achieve something extraordinary, something that will make every member of Browns Nation proud to say, “I was there when it happened.”

Thank you for your unwavering loyalty, your love for the game, and your belief in the Cleveland Browns. The journey isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it—because we’re on it together.

Sincerely,

Myles Garrett III
