An open letter from Joey Kopec to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights family.
Dear Scarlet Knights family,
I sensed something extraordinary from the moment I stepped onto campus. It wasn’t just the facilities, excitement, or atmosphere on game day; it was the people. The unwavering enthusiasm of the Rutgers community, the unrelenting determination of the coaching staff, and the enormous love and support from the fans convinced me that this was where I belonged. Today, as I proudly commit to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, I’d like to offer my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has welcomed me with open arms and made this journey memorable.
Thank you, Coach Schiano and the entire coaching staff, for believing in me. Your vision for this program and unwavering pursuit of greatness inspire me. I see the fraternity, grit, and devotion to greatness that define Rutgers Football, and I knew right away that I wanted to be a part of it. You have created an unparalleled atmosphere, and I am eager to contribute in any manner I can to this team.
Thank you, future teammates, for accepting me as one of your own. The ties we form will extend beyond the field, and I am excited to grind, grow, and make history alongside you. We are more than just teammates; we are family. I am ready to fight beside you and give my all for this program.
Scarlet Knights fans, you are the program’s heartbeat. Your enthusiasm is palpable, and I have immediately felt the love and support you pour into our team. The way you support your players through every peak and low is what makes this place so unique. I commit to give you my all, to proudly represent this university, and to leave all on the pitch each time I put on that shirt.
Thank you, Rutgers community, for bringing me home. This is more than simply a devotion to football; it is a dedication to a family, a tradition, and a level of greatness that I am proud to sustain. I’m ready to work, learn, and give my all to the Scarlet Knights.
The trip is only beginning, and I can’t wait to make memories, win games, and leave a legacy with you all by my side.
Go, Knights!
With appreciation,
Joey Kopec
