Dear Providence Friars’ Family, Supporters, and the Whole Friars Community,
As I reflect on this remarkable experience with the Providence College Men’s Basketball program, I am overwhelmed with great appreciation and humility. From the moment I stepped into Friartown, I knew I was joining a tradition steeped in passion, pride, and endurance. What I didn’t comprehend at the time—but now appreciate with each passing day—was how powerfully this group would shape and support me.

To the administration, thank you for entrusting me with the responsibility of directing this historic program. From President Father Sicard to Athletic Director Steve Napolillo, and every leader involved in Providence College’s establishment, you believed in my vision. You offered me the opportunity to lead with purpose, develop as a coach, and guide our young men not only to compete, but also to represent something more than themselves. Your trust will always be extremely valuable to me.
To my coaching staff, support crew, and every individual behind the scenes, thank you for your unwavering dedication, for the early mornings and late evenings, and for staying by my side through every obstacle and accomplishment. You worked to create a culture of excellence, character, and fraternity. I’ll never take anything for granted.
Thank you to the players I’ve had the opportunity to coach. You are the center of this journey. Your work ethic, passion, and belief in the system we created together will continue to inspire me. Seeing you develop, not just as athletes, but as young men, has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. You proudly wore your Providence jerseys, and I will always be grateful to have experienced that adventure with everyone of you.
What can I possible say to the Friars fans to express my gratitude for their unwavering support? You packed the AMP. You showed up in snowstorms. You helped us when we were low, and you rejoiced with us when we soared. Providence became more than just a college because of your passion, dedication, and love for it. It is not lost on me that your voices, shouts, and belief have influenced this chapter of my work and life.
Thank you to the entire Friars community—students, alumni, staff, and supporters from near and far—for accepting, challenging, and rooting for me. Providence College is more than just a stop on my career journey; it is an integral component of who I am and will become.

As I go forward into the next chapter, I will carry you all with me. The memories, lessons, friendships, and spirit do not disappear with a change in title or residence. They will live on in me forever.
With great gratitude,
Kim English remains a Friar by heart and spirit.
