An open letter from Mike Trout to the Los Angeles Angels, fans, and the entire Angels MLB community.
To my Angels Family,
As I sit down to write this letter, I find myself pondering on the great adventure we have taken together over the years. From the moment I put on an Angels uniform, I knew I was part of something extraordinary. I knew I wasn’t just joining a team; I was becoming a member of a family.
I cannot thank the Los Angeles Angels organisation enough for believing in me from the beginning. From my initial call-up to the Majors to the innumerable games played at Angel Stadium, you have given me the opportunity to learn, compete, and strive for greatness. The trust, support, and resources provided by the front office, coaching staff, trainers, and teammates have helped shape me into the player and person I am today. We faced every game, season, and obstacle together.
You, the fans, are the franchise’s heart and soul. Your unwavering passion, energy, and love for this team have driven me through every high and low. Whether it was the roar of Angel Stadium after a home run, the chants from the stands, or the little moments of engagement before and after games, I felt your presence the entire time. You welcomed me from the beginning, recognised my accomplishments, and supported me during difficult times. For that, I shall be eternally thankful.
Thank you to the entire Angels community for making this journey unforgettable. The relationships I’ve established here, the friendships that will last a lifetime, and the experiences I will cherish forever are what make this organization so remarkable. You have given me more than just a job; you have given me a home.
While baseball brought us together, our friendship extends beyond the game. Regardless of what the future holds, I will always be pleased to have worn the Angels uniform. This team, city, and supporters will always have a special place in my heart.
