An Open Letter from Jaxson Dart to Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss Rebels, Fans, and the Whole Rebels Community
Dear Coach Kiffin, my Ole Miss family, and the entire Rebel community,
As I prepare for the next chapter of my journey and take the leap to the NFL, I find it impossible to move forward without first expressing my deepest gratitude to all of you. My time at Oxford has been nothing short of remarkable, and it’s due of the unending love, support, and belief that each of you has poured into me.
Dear Coach Kiffin, I could never thank you enough for the influence you’ve had on my work and life. From the minute I arrived at Ole Miss, you saw something in me—something I wasn’t even sure I saw in myself. You pushed me to improve every day, as a quarterback and as a person. Your leadership, trust, and advice have impacted me in ways that go far beyond football, and I will be forever thankful.
To my comrades, my brothers, we went to combat together, celebrated successes, faced defeats, and got stronger as a team along the road. You are the reason I could walk onto the pitch every Saturday with confidence, knowing we had each other’s backs no matter what. The friendships we’ve formed will endure a lifetime, and I will always remember the things we learnt together.
Ole Miss supporters, you are genuinely one-of-a-kind. You bring an unparalleled level of energy, emotion, and pride to each game. Running onto the pitch in front of The Grove, hearing Vaught-Hemingway roar, and feeling the love of Rebels all around has been one of the greatest honours of my life. You loved, supported, and lifted me up at every stage of my journey.
Thank you to the entire Rebels community for creating an environment in which I could grow not only as a player, but also as a man. My experiences at Ole Miss, the friendships I’ve formed, and the memories I’ve built will always have a particular place in my heart.
As I move on to the NFL, I keep every lesson, cheer, and memory with me. No matter where this road takes me, I will always be a rebel.
