Ohio State Buckeyes RB withdraws from the transfer portal.
An Ohio State Buckeyes running back has elected to return to the squad rather than transfer.

The Ohio State Buckeyes saw a number of athletes enter the transfer portal during and after the 2024 season. One of the players was Sam Williams-Dixon, a running back.

There is now more information accessible regarding Williams-Dixon and his future.

According to Stephen Means of Cleveland.com, Williams-Dixon has withdrew his name from the transfer site and will return to Ohio State for the 2025 season.

During the 2024 season, Williams-Dixon received very little playing time. He carried the football seven times for 53 yards, averaging 7.6 yards per carry.

Looking ahead to the 2025 season, he could have a chance to challenge for playing time.

Right now, the Buckeyes’ starting running back is likely to be either James Peoples or CJ Donaldson. With TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins leaving for the NFL Draft, no one is sure who will start.

Williams-Dixon may see an opportunity to turn some heads and compete for a role.

If he has a chance to play for Ohio State, it is preferable than going to a lesser school that will not provide him with the opportunity to contend for a national championship.

When Williams-Dixon committed to the Buckeyes in the 2024 recruiting class, he was listed as the No. 63 running back in the class and No. 766 overall.

While there is no certainty that he will play in 2025, Williams-Dixon believes in himself and is giving it another chance. It will be intriguing to see what the upcoming season has in store for him.
