Lubbock, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) On Saturday, Head Coach Joey McGuire and the Red Raiders’ staff welcomed 26 mid-year transfers to start the spring semester. According to On3.com, Texas Tech has the nation’s best class, while 247Sports and ESPN rank Tech second. Among the 26 student-athletes, 17 are transfers and nine are high school signees.
The Red Raiders made their fourth consecutive bowl appearance in 2024, going 8-5 in McGuire’s third season. They finished sixth in the Big 12 with a 6-3 mark.
“Now the work begins. I realised throughout the recruitment process that this group believes it has a lot to prove. The same could be said for our returning players. I’m excited to bring this group together in the coming weeks to construct the 2025 version of the Texas Tech Red Raiders,” McGuire stated.
Texas Tech has more to come, with ten high school signees scheduled to arrive in Lubbock in June. The Red Raiders will hold their first meeting of the 2025 season on Tuesday, with offseason exercises beginning Wednesday.
