Baton Rouge, LA — The recruiting battle is officially over — and LSU has won big. Kianni Westbrook, the No. 1 ranked American forward in the 2025 class, has announced her commitment to the LSU Tigers, choosing Kim Mulkey’s powerhouse program over fierce SEC rivals Alabama, Auburn, and several other top contenders.
Westbrook, a dominant 6-foot-3 wing known for her explosive athleticism, court vision, and ability to score at all three levels, made her announcement via a live broadcast this afternoon, sporting LSU purple and gold with a confident smile.
“This just feels like home,” Westbrook said. “Coach Mulkey’s energy, the culture, the championship mentality — I want to be part of that. I want to win, and I believe LSU is where I can do that.”
The high school phenom out of Atlanta, Georgia, averaged 27.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game during her senior season, drawing comparisons to WNBA stars for her all-around game and leadership. Her decision to join LSU adds even more firepower to a Tigers squad that has already landed two other top-10 recruits this cycle.
Coach Kim Mulkey wasted no time reacting to the commitment: “Kianni is a generational talent. She plays with heart, grit, and an instinct you can’t teach. We’re building something special, and she’s a cornerstone.”
