An open letter from Bruce Dickinson to Iron Maiden band members, fans, and the entire Maiden community.
To my brothers in Iron Maiden, our amazing fans, and the entire Maiden community,
I am at a point in my life and work where words cannot communicate the depth of my gratitude. But if Iron Maiden has taught me anything, it’s that music and words have the power to bring people together, inspire them, and last decades. So, with a heart full of gratitude, I write this letter to say thank you—to my bandmates, our devoted fans, and everyone who has been a part of this wonderful adventure.
I owe a debt of appreciation to Steve, Dave, Adrian, Janick, Nicko, and everyone else who has ever shared the stage with me under the Iron Maiden banner. This band has been more than simply a job; it has been a family, a brotherhood formed over decades of sweat, passion, and unflinching dedication to the music we enjoy. Together, we’ve entertained millions, confounded expectations, and left a lasting legacy. Each of you has pushed me to be a better person, to offer my all, and to fully embrace Maiden’s spirit. Thank you for believing in me, challenging me, and making every moment on stage exciting.
To our fans, you are Iron Maiden’s beating heart. Your enthusiasm, voices, and dedication—from the front row to the outermost reaches of stadiums—have carried us through every album, tour, and era. You’ve accepted my solo endeavours and my return to Maiden as if nothing had happened. You have made every sacrifice worthwhile. Whether you found us in the early days of The Number of the Beast or just last year, you are a member of this family. Thank you for making each show seem like home.
To the Maiden community, the road crews, the producers, the management, the engineers, the artists that bring Eddie to life, and everyone else involved, you have laid the groundwork for this band to succeed. Without you, none of this would be possible.
Iron Maiden is more than simply a band; it is a way of life, a force stronger than each of us. I am eternally honoured to be a part of this tradition, and no matter where the road takes me, Maiden will always be in my blood.
Up the irons!
With my whole heart,
Bruce Dickinson
