Corey Taylor wrote an open letter to Slipknot fans, the band, and the entire Maggot community. Dear Slipknot family, As I sit in reflection, the weight of nearly three decades of blood, sweat, and song hits me like a thousand breakdowns. I am overwhelmed—not with sorrow or regret, but with enormous thankfulness. This is more than just a thank you. It is an homage. This is a critical moment. This is my love letter to each of you.
To our fans—the Maggots—you have been the foundation of every scream, riff, and masked revolution we’ve ever started. From the first time we stepped onto a dirty stage in Iowa to the roaring crowds throughout the world, your energy has been our driving force. You never flinched at the carnage we created. You embraced it. You got it. You were it. I’ve looked into your eyes from behind the mask and seen genuine connection—people who felt the anguish, wrath, hope, and healing in every song.
You gave me strength when I didn’t have any. You helped me feel understood in a world that frequently felt foreign. Thank you for walking by me, yelling with me, and never giving up.
Thank you to my brothers in Slipknot. For battle, togetherness, lunacy, and song. We created something timeless together. Something that transcends genre, boundaries, and expectations. It was never easy. We bled, clashed, broke and rebuilt—but we never lost faith in what Slipknot stood for. You challenged, pushed, and aided my development not only as an artist, but also as a man. I would not be who I am without you.
To the entire Slipknot community—crew, producers, managers, roadies, and friends—I see you. I respect you. Without your tremendous efforts behind the scenes, the concept would not have come to fruition in the way it did. You helped mold the storms we brought to life on stage each night.
Slipknot was not merely a band. It was a revolution. A brotherhood. A haven for the broken and the brave. You all contributed to create an environment in which I could shout my truth, remove my masks on and off stage, and recover through art. That kind of support is not given; it is earned and valued. And I will never forget it.
As I stand on this vista, looking ahead to the next chapter, I bring all of you with me. Every pit, chant, cry, and triumph is imprinted on my soul. Thank you for helping me discover my voice. Thank you for giving it a purpose.
I am eternally grateful to you.
Corey Taylor
