An Epochal Open Letter from Kevin Cronin to REO Speedwagon Fans and the Entire Speedwagon Community.

Dear REO Speedwagon family,

As I sit down to write this letter, my heart is full of love and admiration for each and every one of you. This journey—our journey—has involved music, love, perseverance, and unfailing support. REO Speedwagon has evolved into much more than just a band over the years; it has become a home, a family, and a shared experience that has brought us all together in ways that words cannot convey.

I’d want to thank my fantastic bandmates—past and present—for the magic we’ve created together. From the days of touring in our station waggon to selling out arenas all over the world, we created something absolutely unique. The chemistry, music, and camaraderie we share have endured the test of time, and I will be eternally grateful for the time we spent composing, recording, and playing together.

Our passionate fans—our actual lifeblood—have been with us through everything. From the initial chords of Ridin’ the Storm Out to the anthemic singalongs of Keep On Loving You and Can’t Fight This Feeling, your voices have blended with ours, transforming our songs into more than simply music—they have become memories, feelings, and aspects of your lives. Your enthusiasm drives us, your energy inspires us, and your love gives us cause to keep rocking year after year.

Thank you to the entire REO Speedwagon community—the crew, promoters, radio DJs, journalists, and everyone else who has helped us get here—for believing in us. You helped transform a Champaign, Illinois-based band into a musical legacy. Your devotion and hard work behind the scenes allowed us to focus on what we love: creating music that moves others.

Music is a tremendous force, and being a member of REO Speedwagon has been the greatest honour of my life. The music we wrote together, the shows we performed, and the love we had with our fans will endure forever.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making this fantastic ride possible. Here’s to music, memories, and the journey ahead.

With love and thanks.
Kevin Cronin
