Lexie Hull’s Epochal Open Letter to the Indiana Fever Basketball Team, Supporters, and the Whole Fever Community
Dear Family of the Indiana Fever,
My heart is full with thankfulness as I sit down to write this. As I reflect on my time with the Indiana Fever, I am overcome with gratitude for each and every individual who has contributed to my experience. In my basketball career, this team, this city, and this amazing community have been more than simply a chapter—they have been my home.
You are my sisters, my teammates. I will always treasure the memories of every practice, every game, and every high and low we had together. I’ve become a better player and a better person as a result of the innumerable hours we’ve spent encouraging one another, pushing one another, and trying to be our best. I cannot adequately express the manner in which you have inspired me. The lessons, giggles, and enduring friendships we formed together will always be a part of me.
To the coaching staff, thank you for believing in me. From the very first day I stepped onto the court, you challenged me, guided me, and helped me grow beyond my own expectations. Your mentorship has been essential, and I will long be grateful for the unwavering support, encouragement, and expertise you have offered.
The fans are the lifeblood of this franchise, and your devotion and enthusiasm are unparalleled. I could feel the passion, the love, and your unwavering faith in this team every time I took the court at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Whether we were celebrating a success or fighting through a devastating loss, your presence, your voices, and your faith in us never wavered. You made every moment memorable, and I am beyond glad to have had the opportunity of playing for you.
I want to express my gratitude to the entire Fever organisation and community for fostering an atmosphere that allows players to succeed on and off the court. Your dedication to building this team and cultivating an excellence culture is apparent in every facet of our company. Because of you, I have been able to grow in ways I never imagined, and I will forever carry the lessons I’ve learned here.
This is not goodbye—it’s simply a heartfelt thank you. No matter where life takes me, Indiana Fever will always occupy a particular place in my heart.
With sincere appreciation,
Hull, Lexie
