Mike Patton writes an open letter to Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, fans, and the entire Faith No More community.

Dear Faith No More and Mr. Bungle Families, Fans, and the Community That Keeps Us Together,

As I sit here, reflecting on this great experience, I am filled with thankfulness. I can’t express how grateful I am for the love, support, and resilience you have shown throughout the years. This letter is long overdue, but now seems like the ideal time to open my heart and share my ideas with you.

To my Faith No More and Mr. Bungle bandmates, you are my family, creative lifeline, and co-conspirators on this insane voyage. From the early days of turmoil and experimentation to moments of clarity and accomplishment, you have encouraged me to push the boundaries and believe in the power of art to challenge and unite. Thank you for your trust, talent, and willingness to join me in exploring unexplored territory. Together, we’ve created something that I feel will be remembered for generations.

To our supporters, you are the heart of everything we do. You contribute an unparalleled level of passion to our music. Whether you found us in a steamy basement gig, during the pandemonium of a festival, or in the wild corners of the internet, you’ve welcomed us with an open mind and open heart. Thank you for your loyalty, patience, and for staying with us even when we deviated from the predicted course. You’ve taught me that music is more than simply something we do; it’s something we share, and it grows and changes with every connection we make.

And to the entire Faith No More community—promoters, journalists, other musicians, and everyone who has supported or amplified our work—you have created an environment in which we can thrive. You’ve encouraged creativity, allowed for vulnerability, and promoted a sense of belonging, making every step of this journey meaningful.

Music has always allowed me to express what cannot be expressed. It’s been a haven, a battlefield, and a reflection of the intricacies of the human experience. I owe so much of my development to this community—a collective force that has pushed me to continue learning, questioning, and creating.

I sincerely thank you. The finest aspect about this adventure is that it hasn’t ended yet. We will continue to move forward together, exploring the unknown and enjoying the amazing.

With love and thanks.
Mike Patton
