An Epochal Open Letter from Milan Momcilovic to the Iowa State Cyclones, Fans, and the Whole Cyclone Community Dear Iowa State Cyclone Family, As I reflect on my fantastic adventure with the Cyclones, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation. I’m writing to you—the fans, the coaches, my teammates, and the entire Cyclones community—because none of this would be possible without you. From the moment I went onto the court as a Cyclone, I felt an instant camaraderie and a sense of belonging. This community welcomed me with open arms, and the sense of belonging grew stronger with time. The love, enthusiasm, and steadfast support I’ve gotten from everyone of you has been important in defining my development, not only as an athlete, but also as a person.
The environment here at Iowa State has allowed me to actually thrive. The coaches and staff’s dedication and commitment have been unparalleled, constantly pushing me to be the best version of myself. They’ve created a platform that promotes not only physical potential but also personal growth, teamwork, and resilience. The lessons I’ve learned here will stick with me for a lifetime.
To the fans, your enthusiasm has been unrivaled. From the crowded stadiums to the sincere cheers, there was never a moment when I didn’t feel like I was playing for something bigger than myself. You, the spirit and soul of Iowa State, make every game, practice, and challenge feel like a team effort. You’ve enjoyed the highs with me and supported me throughout the lows, always reminding me that we were all on this trip together. I’ll always remember stepping out to the court and hearing your loud support. Nothing compares to the atmosphere created by Cyclones fans, and it’s something I’ll never forget.
I feel really privileged to have had the opportunity to play in front of such a loyal and passionate fan base. Your constant belief in the team and in me has pushed me to give my all, and the pride I feel while wearing the Iowa State uniform will stay with me forever. It has been an honor to represent you, and I hope I have made you proud both on and off the court.
The entire Cyclones community has been essential to my progress. The friendships I’ve made, the ties I’ve created with my colleagues, and the advice I’ve received from instructors and mentors have all contributed to an outstanding experience. Iowa State has been more than simply a basketball school; it has been a home, a family, and a constant source of inspiration.
As I continue my career and go on to other chapters, I will be eternally grateful for the opportunities, progress, and love that have been provided to me here.
