To the Colorado Rockies organization, my teammates, the amazing fans, and the entire Rockies family:
As I ponder on this incredible voyage, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and pride. From the moment I was drafted, donning that Rockies cap and realized I’d be calling Coors Field home, to every time I took the mound in front of you—baseball’s most passionate and dedicated fans—this chapter of my life has been nothing short of transformative.
Thank you, Rockies organization, for believing in me. For giving a boy from Tennessee the opportunity to pursue his ambition at the greatest level, and for surrounding me with coaches, mentors, and teammates who developed not only my game, but also my personality. The development staff, the strength and conditioning squad, the trainers, and everyone else behind the scenes—your commitment to my development as a pitcher and as a person has made a huge difference. You recognized potential in me before the rest of the world did, and I will never forget that trust.
Thank you to all of my teammates, past and present, for the camaraderie, strong rivalry, laughs in the clubhouse, road trip stories, challenges, and wins. Every one of you has made an impact on my career. You’ve pushed me to improve, held me accountable, and encouraged me to seize every chance with zeal and humility.
And to the fans: wow. From the sea of purple in the stands to the youngsters holding signs with my name on them, you’ve been the lifeblood of my stay here. Whether we were fighting for victories or slogging through setbacks, your spirit never faltered. I could feel it every time I stepped on that mound—the volume, the rhythm, the belief. Coors Field is more than simply a ballpark. It’s a cathedral of memories, and I’m honored to have left my mark on its history, even if only for a short time.
Denver will always hold a special place in my heart. Sunsets over the mountains after a huge win, the sound of the crowd during a strikeout, and post-game walks through LoDo—those are memories I’ll cherish forever. And no matter where this game takes me next, the Rockies will always be the place where I developed into the guy and pitcher I was born to be.
I’m not sure what tomorrow brings, but I know this: I’ll take every lesson, every cheer, and every ounce of love you’ve given me with me. Baseball is a game of chapters, and while this one may be coming to an end, the memories we’ve created together will last a lifetime.
