An Open Letter from Susan Tedeschi to the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Fans, and the Entire Tedeschi Trucks Community
Dear Family, Friends, and Fans,
As I sit down to write this letter, I am overcome with appreciation for the great adventure we have had together. From the beginning of my career to the founding of the Tedeschi Trucks Band, and through every note, show, and connection we’ve created, you’ve been there—lifting me, motivating me, and giving me a reason to keep singing and playing with all my heart.
My former and current bandmates are like extended family to me. The music we’ve developed together reflects our profound love, trust, and dedication. Every practice, tour, and venue we’ve performed on has demonstrated the power of teamwork and the magic that occurs when we pour our hearts and souls into what we love. I will be eternally grateful to Derek, whose vision and artistry have served as the foundation for this journey, as well as to all of you who have contributed your talents and spirits to make our music what it is today.
To our fans, you are the band’s heartbeat. Your unwavering support, your enthusiasm at our events, and the way you have welcomed us with open arms make all we do worthwhile. Whether you’ve been with me since the beginning or joined us somewhere along the way, your enthusiasm and love have driven every note I’ve ever sang. You’ve given me a place on every stage and a purpose beyond words.
To the whole Tedeschi Trucks community, from our fantastic crew to promoters, venues, and everyone who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes, you have created the climate in which we can share our music with the globe. Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you for believing in us and for helping us bring our vision to life.
Music is a trip, and I consider myself extremely fortunate to be on it with you all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of my narrative, for encouraging me, and for giving me the opportunity to express myself through singing. Here’s to more years of music, love, and connection.
With love and thanks.
Susan Tedeschi
