An Open Letter from Alice Cooper.
To my fans and the entire rock music community:
There are times in life when words do not seem adequate, and this is one of them. As I sit down to write this, I am filled with appreciation for your love, support, and consistent dedication throughout the years. This journey—our journey—has been nothing short of legendary, and I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped make it happen.
From the outset, rock music was more than simply a genre; it was a movement, a revolt, an attitude, and, most importantly, a family. You, the fans, have been the heartbeat of this music, keeping it alive through your passion, enthusiasm, and determination to let rock & roll die. Whether you’ve been with me since the beginning, discovering the crazy of the Alice Cooper persona, or you stumbled into my universe later, your support has been invaluable.
To the whole rock music community—musicians, bands, crews, producers, and everyone else involved—you have helped to build this society into one in which artistry thrives, originality is celebrated, and music continues to break down barriers. Rock and roll has never been about fitting in; it’s always about standing out, questioning the status quo, and shaking things up. I am pleased to have walked this route with so many wonderful musicians that share the same unwavering passion for this music.
I’ve witnessed generations of fans scream in the front rows, parents introducing their children to the music, and new artists emerge with the same zeal that we had when we first started. That is the beauty of rock: it never dies; it changes, reinvents itself, and emerges stronger than ever. And you’ve been there throughout, demonstrating that this music, this community, is truly timeless.
To my fans, friends, and fellow rockers: you’ve given me a lifetime of unforgettable experiences. Your belief in me, your love of music, and your unwavering spirit are the reasons I continue to perform, compose, and feel glad to be a part of this world.
Rock & roll is more than just music; it’s a way of life. And thanks to you, I’ve lived it to the utmost.
With my heartfelt gratitude and love,
Alice Cooper
