To the incredible LSU family, As I sit down to write these lines, I am filled with gratitude, introspection, and profound appreciation for a chapter in my life that has been nothing short of transforming. With a full heart, I write this open letter to every member of the LSU Tigers family—players, coaches, staff, fans, alumni, and everyone who proudly wears purple and gold.
From the time I arrived in Baton Rouge, I was greeted not only as a coach, but also as a part of a passionate and powerful family. Your warmth, energy, and steadfast support have fostered an environment in which greatness is not only expected, but encouraged. You embraced my vision, supported us through both successes and setbacks, and fostered a culture of hard work, discipline, and unwavering belief. For this, I am eternally grateful.
You, the past and present players, are the program’s heartbeat. You trusted me to steer your journey, and in exchange, you taught me as much as I hope I taught you. Your determination, resilience, and dedication to greatness have been the fuel that has ignited our journey ahead. Seeing you develop not only as athletes, but also as men, has been one of the greatest privileges of my career.
To the fans, your enthusiasm is unparalleled. From Tiger Stadium’s electrifying roar on Saturday evenings to small moments of encouragement throughout the year, your support has never wavered. You made me feel like I was a part of something more than football—something founded in tradition, pride, and a strong Louisiana spirit. Thank you to the LSU community and administration for providing me with an opportunity to improve. You gave me the resources, flexibility, and trust to lead and evolve. You believed in a vision for the future, and together we built something truly extraordinary.
Though the future will undoubtedly present new challenges, I am confident that LSU will always be a part of who I am. This has been more than a job; it has been a calling, a family, and a legacy that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Forever grateful, always a Tiger.
With deepest gratitude.
