Mike Norvell’s Epochal Open Letter to FSU Football Fans and the Entire FSU Community To the FSU Football Family, Our Devoted Fans, and the Entire Florida State University Community, As I sit down to write this, my heart is flooded with profound love and admiration for each and every one of you. Your unfailing support, belief, and passion have not only defined my journey but also driven our program’s amazing development and success over the years. I offer my gratitude and humility for your love and commitment to me, our team, and this wonderful institution.
From the minute I arrived in Tallahassee, I was greeted with open arms and welcomed into a tradition as rich as any in college football. Florida State is more than simply a football program; it is a fraternity, a family, and a high standard of excellence that we proudly maintain. The opportunity to lead this team has been one of the greatest honors of my career, and I am eternally grateful for the faith placed in me to carry on the history of greatness that so many before us have established.
Thank you to all of our former and present players. Your unwavering commitment, persistent work ethic, and unbreakable spirit are the cornerstones of our success. You have demonstrated tenacity in the face of adversity, as well as an unrelenting commitment to being the best versions of yourself. The most satisfying part of my journey has been watching you develop not only as sportsmen, but also as men of character. You inspire me every day, and I am extremely proud of everything we have accomplished together.
To our great fans: your enthusiasm is unparalleled. Whether you’re in the stands at Doak Campbell Stadium, on the road, or cheering from afar, your enthusiasm, loyalty, and love for the Seminoles create an unforgettable experience. The loudness of the War Chant, the union of the Osceola and Renegade traditions, and the sea of garnet and gold remind us all why FSU is unique. You are the program’s heartbeat, and we couldn’t do it without you.
To the whole FSU community, thank you for creating an environment that promotes growth, learning, and excellence on and off the field. The culture we’ve created together is about more than just winning games; it’s about developing leaders, inspiring future generations, and maintaining the principles that make Florida State University unique.
