An Epochal Open Letter from Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers, Fans, and the Whole Panthers Community

Dear Florida Panthers Organization, devoted fans, and the entire Panthers community,

As I sit down to write this letter, my heart is filled with gratitude, thought, and profound appreciation for the incredible trip we’ve had. From the moment I walked into the locker room wearing the Florida Panthers shirt, I felt the intensity, passion, and unrelenting devotion of a franchise dedicated to produce greatness—not only on the ice, but in the lives of those it touches. Today, I write not only as a hockey player, but also as someone who has been changed by this amazing family.

Coming to Florida marked a new chapter in my work, and I wasn’t sure how to write about it at first. However, what I discovered was a home. A place where teammates became brothers, coaches became mentors, and fans became like extended family. You embraced, challenged, and believed in me in ways that rekindled my passion for this game.

To the Panthers organization—thank you for believing in a seasoned winger with a chip on his shoulder and a fire in his heart. You offered me not just a roster position, but a purpose. You provided me with the opportunity to develop not just as an athlete, but also as a leader and man. You’ve created an unparalleled culture based on trust, accountability, and relentless determination. I’m happy to have worn this shirt and battled with soldiers who gave their all, every night.

To the fans: your passion, shouts, and unwavering support gave me life on the ice. Whether it was roaring in FLA Live Arena or sending messages from all over the world, your support has been a driving factor behind every shift I’ve taken. The chanting, the signs, the sea of red and blue—it made every goal sweeter, every victory more significant.

To the community, thank you for welcoming me beyond the game. From charity events to school visits and community outreach activities, your warmth made Florida more than simply a hockey destination for me; it became a place I gladly called home.

As I think on this trip, I am reminded that a legacy is defined by connections, resilience, and respect rather than stats or trophies. And I’ve had plenty of each of these in Florida. You’ve given me memories that will last a lifetime, and I’ll carry this chapter with pride wherever my path may lead.

This isn’t goodbye. It’s just, thank you. Thank you for everything.

With deepest thanks,
Brad Marchand
right winger wearing #63.
Forever Proud to be a Panther
