An Open Letter From Roger Hodgson
Thank you, Supertramp, our fans, and the entire rock music family.

Dear friends,

As I sit down to write these words, I am inundated with memories—of tunes produced in quiet rooms, of stages spanning continents drenched in spotlights, and of the tremendous connection that exists between artist and audience. I write this message to all of you—those who’ve been a part of this incredible trip through sound, soul, and time—with enormous thanks, humility, and love in my heart.

Thank you to my bandmates in Supertramp. What we made together in the 1970s and 1980s went beyond music and became the soundtrack to millions of people’s lives. We combined ambition with vulnerability, intelligence and heart, and gave the world something genuinely unique. From “Dreamer” to “Give a Little Bit,” and “The Logical Song” to “Take the Long Way Home,” our music addressed both life’s greatest questions and its most modest pleasures. Each note was a heartfelt partnership, and I’ll be eternally grateful for the opportunity to share that trip with such incredible artists.

To the fans, you’ve been the driving force behind this entire adventure. Your love, commitment, and voices propelled us higher than we ever believed imaginable. You’ve packed venues, learned every line, and passed down our tunes to future generations. I’ve met many of you on the road over the years, and your stories—how certain songs supported you through bereavement, brightened your weddings, or united you with family—are treasures I keep in my heart. Thank you for making our music your own.

Thank you to the entire rock community, including fellow musicians, producers, road crews, and music enthusiasts, for cultivating an environment in which creativity thrives and dreams come true. You assisted in transforming a young man with a guitar and a head full of songs into something more—a vessel of music that crossed borders and languages.

Though my time with Supertramp progressed and my solo career took off, the foundation of it all remained constant: a desire to connect, heal, and inspire through music. You allowed me to grow, explore, and be true to myself.

I’m still dreaming. I’m still singing. And I’m still deeply moved by every standing ovation, every quiet listener, and every note that touches someone’s heart.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making this life not only possible but worthwhile.

With Love,
Roger Hodgson
