CeeDee Lamb, the Dallas Cowboys’ star wide receiver, has reaffirmed his commitment to the team by signing a substantial four-year contract extension worth $136 million. This deal includes a $38 million signing bonus and $100 million in guaranteed money, positioning Lamb among the NFL’s highest-paid receivers.
Lamb’s performance since being drafted 17th overall in 2020 has been exceptional. In the 2023 season, he set franchise records with 135 receptions, 1,749 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns, earning him first-team All-Pro honors.
The contract negotiations concluded just before the Cowboys’ regular-season opener against the Cleveland Browns on September 8. Head coach Mike McCarthy expressed relief at having Lamb back, stating, “It’s great to have CeeDee back. He’s a key part of our offense, and we’re looking forward to what he brings to the field this season.”
Lamb himself has expressed a desire to remain with the Cowboys for the entirety of his career, stating, “I would love to be here another contract and another one, and retire here.”
With Lamb’s contract situation resolved, the Cowboys can now focus on securing extensions for other key players, including quarterback Dak Prescott and linebacker Micah Parsons. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones remains confident in his ability to manage these negotiations, asserting, “There’s nobody that can [expletive] come in here … and be a GM any better than I can.”
Lamb’s dedication and new contract not only solidify his future with the Cowboys but also reinforce the team’s commitment to maintaining a competitive roster as they strive for success in the upcoming season.
