Cooper Webb’s Epochal Open Letter to the Red Bull Factory Team, Fans, and the Motocross and Supercross Community
Dear Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team, my fellow riders, loyal fans, and the entire motocross & supercross community,
As I reflect on the tremendous ride I’ve had in this sport — the successes, setbacks, comebacks, and unforgettable moments — I feel forced to offer what words cannot convey: my heartfelt thanks.
This letter is not just a farewell or a thank you. It’s a heartfelt thank you to every single individual, fan, mechanic, rival, and supporter who has helped build my journey in the great world of motocross and supercross. From the initial gate drop to the last checkered flag, this has been a once-in-a-lifetime ride, and I couldn’t have done it without you.
To the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team.
Red Bull KTM provided me more than just a bike and a shirt; you gave me hope.
You spotted potential in me at a critical juncture in my career. When I was looking for direction and purpose, you embraced me with open arms and ignited the fire that would propel me to new heights. We accomplished things that were formerly unattainable – AMA Supercross Championships, race victories, podium finishes, and amazing clashes that will live on in my heart.
Your dedication to excellence, creativity, and family provided an ideal environment for me to develop. Thank you to the team management, crew, engineers, technicians, and everyone else who worked behind the scenes for never losing faith in me, even when things became tough. Your tireless efforts and unshakeable belief laid the groundwork for every achievement I’ve had in your colours.
Fans are the driving force behind this sport.
From full stadiums to muddy outdoor tracks, your spirit has carried me through every high and low. The shouts, signs, notes, and meet-and-greets have meant more to me than you’ll ever realise. When I crossed the finish line, I wasn’t just racing for prizes; I was racing for all of you who supported me, believed in me, and fuelled my fire along the road.
To the children wearing #2 on their backs, the families who drove for hours to see a main event, and the fans who stayed up late to witness a race, you are the reason I gave it my all every time. Your support has been my inspiration, pride, and legacy.
To the Motocross and Supercross Community.
This sport is unlike any other.
It is raw. It’s tough. It’s beautiful. And it creates fighters.
Being a part of this community has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Motocross has given me resilience, discipline, humility, and respect, which have helped me grow as a person as much as an athlete. Every difficulty, injury, and race taught me something new, and I’m thankful for each chapter.
To my fellow cyclists, thank you for pushing, challenging, and improving me. Iron sharpens iron, and the competitiveness and companionship make this sport so unique.
Looking forward
I’m not sure what the future holds, but one thing is certain: this voyage will always be with me. Motocross is an integral part of who I am, whether I’m riding or watching from the sidelines. And wherever my future journey takes me, I will be filled with appreciation, pride, and an unbreakable relationship with this great community.
