An Epochal Open Letter from Mark Few to the Gonzaga Bulldogs, Fans, and the Whole Bulldogs Community To the Gonzaga Bulldogs family, our amazing fans, and the whole Bulldogs community, As I take a step back and think on this incredible adventure, my heart is overflowing with appreciation. Coaching at Gonzaga has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and it is thanks to the unwavering support, belief, and love of this fantastic community that I have been able to grow—not just as a coach, but as a person.
Today, I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has helped make this journey so special.
To my former and present gamers, you are the reason I do this. Seeing you flourish on and off the court has been the most rewarding aspect of my profession. The effort, resilience, and enthusiasm you bring to this program are what distinguish Gonzaga basketball. You have accepted the challenge, upheld the culture, and carried the torch with pride. Your hard work and dedication have defined what it means to be a Zag, and I am honored to be your coach.
Our passionate fans—Zag Nation—are the program’s heartbeat. Your enthusiasm, energy, and unfailing support, whether at The Kennel or across the country, have carried us through each season. The pride you have in this team is what makes Gonzaga basketball more than a program; it is a family. The chants, cheers, and electrifying atmosphere you create remind us why we do it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for us constantly.
To the Gonzaga administration, athletic department, and staff, thank you for creating an environment conducive to excellence. Your dedication to this program and trust in me throughout the years have been invaluable. The support structure you’ve created has helped us achieve amazing success, and I sincerely appreciate everything you do behind the scenes.
This journey is much more than just victories and titles. The relationships, memories, and shared experiences form who we are as a program. Gonzaga is my home, and I am really grateful to be a part of this community. Thank you for your love and support, and for making this experience something I will remember forever.
With thanks and pride,
Mark Few
