Teri Moren’s Open Letter to the Indiana Hoosiers Women’s Basketball, Fans, and the Entire Hoosier Community Dear Hoosier Nation, As I sit down to write this letter, I am filled with pride, gratitude, and deep appreciation for each and every one of you. I knew I was entering something greater than myself the moment I took the court as head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers Women’s Basketball; I was joining a tradition, a legacy, and a family that has influenced me more than I could ever articulate.
I want to start by expressing my gratitude to all of my players, past, present, and future. The essence of this curriculum lies in you. Every day I am inspired by your commitment, diligence, and unwavering resolve. The greatest honor of my career has been witnessing you push yourselves to the limit, develop as people and athletes, and represent Indiana with pride. You are my family, not simply a group of players. I will always treasure the memories we have created together, including the triumphs, the difficult defeats, and the resilient times.
I want to express my gratitude to my coaching team and colleagues for supporting me through every success and setback. This adventure will never be forgotten because of your dedication to excellence and faith in our common goal. Without your constant work and steadfast support, our program would not be what it is today. We have created something unique, and I will always be appreciative of being a member of this amazing group.
There are no adequate words to express how deeply I appreciate our devoted fans. You have been our greatest inspiration, our pillar of support, and our lifeblood, Hoosier Nation. We always sense your enthusiasm, fervor, and unwavering support, whether we’re performing in front of a crowded Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall or fighting on the road. You are the reason our program keeps getting better. You are the world’s greatest fans—the chants, the applause, the unshakable faith.
We appreciate the support and belief in our mission from the university administration, alumni, and the larger Indiana community. Your dedication to women’s basketball has been crucial in fostering an atmosphere that allows our players to succeed on and off the court. Our success has been fueled by your commitment to encouraging excellence and empowering young women.
As I think back on my experience here, I am struck by how lucky I am to be a part of this program. Indiana is more than just a team or a school; it is a way of life, a testament to tenacity, and a lighthouse of excellence. It is a privilege for me to continue to lead this group, uphold the Hoosier tradition, and work with them to achieve even more.
