An Open Letter from Michael Sweet.
To my Stryper bandmates, our amazing fans, and the entire Stryper community,
As I think on this great journey, I am filled with appreciation for the love, support, and encouragement you have all given me and our band throughout the years. This letter is a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped make this path more than just a profession, but a calling and a purpose.
To my Stryper brothers, Robert, Oz, and Perry, you have been more than bandmates; you have been family. Together, we created something remarkable. From garage practices and small shows to sold-out venues and international tours, we’ve been bonded by our common goal and faith. Our music has served as our collective voice, conveying a message of hope, love, and restoration. It hasn’t always been easy—there have been obstacles, arguments, and periods of uncertainty—but our friendship and shared mission have remained unshakeable. Thank you for your talent, trust, and perseverance.
To our fans, words cannot explain how grateful I am. You have been the driving force behind Stryper’s creation and performance. Your constant support, from the beginnings of The Yellow and Black Attack to our most current recordings, has been nothing short of inspiring. You have lifted us up with your shouts, anecdotes, and enthusiasm for our music and message. Whether you’ve been with us since the 1980s or have only recently discovered us, you’ve all played an important role in this adventure. The energy you bring to our shows, the love you share on social media, and the many ways you’ve supported us have left an everlasting impact on my heart.
The Stryper community—the innumerable people behind the scenes who believed in and supported us—are the unsung heroes of our story. Managers, promoters, producers, crew workers, and numerous more, your devotion and hard work have allowed us to realise our goals. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us spread it around the world.
Over the years, we’ve remained committed to our mission: to make music that uplifts, inspires, and challenges. Our faith has been the cornerstone of all we do, and it’s been an honour to communicate it via the worldwide language of music.
As I look ahead, I am filled with optimism and excitement about what the future holds. Stryper’s aim remains unchanged: to spread light in a world that is frequently dark. Thank you for being the wind in our sails and enabling this fantastic adventure.
