To My Michigan Family.
As I sit down to write this letter, I am filled with gratitude and appreciation for everything this trip has given me. Being a member of the Michigan Wolverines Men’s Basketball Team has been more than just playing my favorite sport; it has been a life-changing experience that has shaped me into the player and person I am today.
Michigan is more than just a school, program, or basketball team; it’s a family, legacy, and way of life. I felt the energy of the Maize and Blue from the moment I stepped onto campus, and I knew I was entering a special environment built on excellence, tradition, and an unwavering commitment to greatness.
Thank you, coaches, for believing in me and pushing me beyond my boundaries. You recognized potential in me, even when I questioned myself. Your advice, passion, and unwavering pursuit of success have ingrained in me a work ethic that will last well beyond the court. You have influenced not only my game, but also my character.
To my teammates, you are brothers. We’ve formed lifelong relationships via every tough practice, hard-fought battle, and late-night talk. We celebrated our wins and learnt from our disappointments, but we stood together throughout. I’ll always remember the times we spent in the locker room, the road trips, the shared dreams, and the sense that we were playing for something bigger than ourselves.
To Michigan fans and the Blue Community.
You, the great Michigan fans, are the heartbeat of this program. Your enthusiasm, unrelenting support, and deafening roars at Crisler Center have made every game an amazing experience. Whether at home or on the road, you have been there for us, holding us up, pushing us forward, and ensuring that we never felt alone. I’ve seen firsthand what it means to be a member of the Michigan family, and that pride will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Thank you to the Blue Community for creating an environment in which I could grow not only as a basketball player, but also as a person. The assistance from faculty, staff, alumni, and fellow students has been invaluable. You’ve shown me that being a Wolverine is more than just winning and losing; it’s about honesty, resilience, and a dedication to something bigger than ourselves.
Looking ahead.
As my time in the Maize and Blue draws to a close, I want you to know that Michigan will always be home. No matter where life takes me, I’ll always remember the things I’ve learned here, the friendships I’ve formed, and the pride I feel wearing the block M across my chest.
This is not a goodbye, but rather a heartfelt thank you. Thank you for your love, support, and believe in me. Thank you for creating memories to last a lifetime. Thank you for making this journey one I’ll never forget.
