Eli Tomac’s Epochal Open Letter to Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, Fans, and the Overall Motocross and Supercross Community
To the entire Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing Team, my favorite fans, and the Motocross and Supercross families,
As I reflect on my journey to this point, I am filled with gratitude, pride, and humility. From the initial gate drop to the last checkered flag, this ride has been nothing short of incredible. All of this would not have been possible without the everlasting support, belief, and love of this great community, which has served as the foundation for my career.
Thank you to the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team. Thank you for providing me with the resources, trust, and team to pursue excellence. You accepted me not just as a rider, but also as a person, a professional, and a competitor with a burning passion in my heart. This organization’s passion and commitment are unparalleled, and each mechanic, trainer, and staff member has contributed to helping me push past limitations I had no idea existed.
When I switched to Yamaha, I knew I was entering into something exceptional, but I had no idea how much growth, fulfillment, and joy I would experience under this banner. We pursued championships together. We tasted victory. We faced difficulties. And through it all, we remained united – as a team, a family.
To the fans: you are my engine. You’re the reason I ride harder, dive deeper, and leave everything on the track. From your screams at full stadiums to your emotional words on social media, your encouragement has been the steady fuel that keeps me going. It’s a sensation that words can never truly express—that connection, that relationship we’ve shared through the ups and downs. Whether you’ve been with me since the beginning or have recently joined me on the ride, I will be eternally grateful for your support and believe in me.
To the entire motocross and supercross community, thank you for creating a sport that burns souls and tests the human spirit. The competition has made me tougher. My rivalries have sharpened me. And the fellowship has elevated me. I’ve shared the track with legends, warriors, and future stars, and it’s been an honor to be a part of such a great and passionate community.
As I continue on this road, whatever path it takes, I will do it with my head held high, my heart full, and my soul enriched by everything this sport and its people have given me. I am who I am today not only because of what I’ve accomplished on the bike, but also because of the individuals who have been by my side off it.
This is not a good-bye. It’s a thank-you. A celebration of everything we’ve accomplished – and a commitment to keep the lessons, memories, and love with me forever.
